Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a motivated Application Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team and work alongside a diverse group of professionals committed to mission success.
The Application DBA provides database administration support for the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) Enterprise Infrastructure, supporting Oracle (19c or higher) and Microsoft SQL Server (2014 or higher) environments. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, modifying, and managing databases within DTMO’s multi-tier architecture.
Responsibilities include monitoring and optimizing database performance, tuning operations, and ensuring reliable data processing during core business hours (0600–2200 ET, Monday–Friday) with on-call support for mission-critical incidents outside those hours. The role also supports technologies such as SSIS, clustering, mirroring, and replication.
The DBA coordinates with DMDC to support data security standards, storage scalability, backups, and disaster recovery activities, including Information System Contingency Plans (ISCP), Business Impact Analyses (BIA), and annual Continuity of Operations (COOP) exercises supporting the DTMO Passport website.

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
